A sane voice is a lifeline these days. Thank you, Terry Moran, for using yours!

The price they will pay is blood on their hands. People will die because of the republican’s agenda of greed and domination.

Tigerlilley's avatar

I believe that is exactly what they want. Remember when they hammered home

how the ACA (Obamacare) would have death panels. Well that wasn't the case.

It is now.

Jonathan Janov's avatar

Their entire party is a death panel; ICE, aka the American Gestapo, removing subsidies from Solar and wind, which were apparently removed from the bill right before passing, etc, etc. It’s the point of them, they hate us and want us to fail as a country so that Trumplethinskin can come in as our savior. If the maga voters don’t see whats happening, god help us all

Nancy's avatar

They don’t care, bottom line.

USAID officially closed down today. So not only did this regime cut off food assistance to the neediest, we can now look locally to see our neighbors also going without food. This makes me very angry and so sad to see what this regime is doing to our world! Absolutely disgusted!

Tami Johnson's avatar

The destruction of USAID is going to be Trump's legacy. It's a tragedy. We can never let anyone forget this.

Agnesanne Danehey's avatar

What you wrote rings true...food and medicine taken away at the international, national, and local neighbors.....Absolutely disgusting and sadistic!

Get ready for the worse pray for the best. Grab your weapons cause they're not playing with a full deck. Fanatics don't change until they are forced to and even then they can never be trusted again.

We need to donate to the legit food banks. .Here in Florida the “ Second Harvest “ food bank have been life saving, even providing school meals . It is a travesty that anyone is hungry in this country. The current occupier of the White House and too many politicians are drunk with power. We must impeach the demented felon and his cohorts, Noem Bondi Rubio et.al time to disinfect the house. Mike Johnson is hell bent on demolishing our Constitution,Democracy and Inclusion. They represent the heritage foundation ,and authors of project 2025.We Can do it…UNITED

Watching in horror from Canada ... Serious suggestion, y'all should be calling it "Big Betrayal Bill" because that's what it is ... And it's just so much better IMO.

ALC's avatar

blue states are responssible for putting in 60% of the federal budget. Maybe its time we left the US with the corrupt Republican party and joined you. We get sanity and health insurance and you get a really big bank roll and a skilled job ready workforce.

I will move out of red ugly Ohio for this

Joni Jensen's avatar

Oooo that works for me!

Change Champion's avatar

Agree. I wish the democrats would call it that!

Jen B's avatar

How does one apply for Canadian citizenship?

Change Champion's avatar

The sneaky part of this bill is a lot of stuff will not go into effect until after mid terms. This then let's the nasty GOP blame issues on democrats. Esp for those that don't look at all news sources

Lynze's avatar

That’s how it always works with republicans and their horrible economic policies or anything that they do that isn’t actually good for the people. Then when the democrats are in office and do something to try and fix the republicans mess ups. That isn’t in the democrats favor it goes to the republicans, so the same idiots that keep voting them in don’t know how anything works 😩🤦‍♀️

Tami Johnson's avatar

That's correct, and we need to never let up on pointing out when and what will take effect!

Nancy's avatar

And they will, and the media will play along! This is an endless cycle of hypocrisy and double standards.

As a Mainer, I'm as furious about Senator Collins' "safe" no vote (after she voted to move the bill forward) as I am about Murksowski's carevout cave-in. I'd hoped (yeah, always wishful) Collins would have her Margaret Chase Smith moment but so be it. https://revkin.substack.com/p/in-1950-a-republican-senator-from?utm_source=publication-search I'll be doing whatever I can to see Collins' senatorship ends in 2026.

I don't think the GOP's own constituents are smart enough to recognize they are getting fleeced. After all, they voted an idiot into office twice and mostly claimed they did a third time.

The GOP, for my whole life, has worked hard to do nothing to make health insurance reasonably attainable. All most of us want to do is buy a reasonable plan at a reasonable price. But forever, they do whatever they can to make that difficult.

Tigerlilley's avatar

That is true...and they know their constituents swallow anything they say as fact.

jazzbox35's avatar

The capacity for rationalization is amazing.

KBFalls's avatar

We could save tax dollars if the senators and congress paid for their own healthcare. Not from our tax dollars.

I am struggling to deal with the fact that MY UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (for

73 years) is bending so low as to destroy so many low to middle income, hard working people in order to keep their political seat...a seat...and support billionaires. I feel broken but not done. I won't give up. I appreciate a news person whose free to tell the truth. Thank you Terry.

Mimi marmot's avatar

I am 66 and that is exactly how I feel! I don’t know if our younger citizens understand what’s on the line here; it’s all descended so fast.

This bill is horrible

Another resource to call your Representative, Senators, etc is 5calls.org app. It provides the issues, a script, phone number of whom to call. Easy easy

I don't know Terry, I hate that folks like you are blaming the Democrats. I think that those who voted for Dump thinking he was going to do any of the things he said he would do (well besides be a dictator) were just plain STUPID! I don't know how you fix stupid.

IF they had listened to Kamala - she told us this is where we would be. She also had many good answers for the cost of things (let's try to remember she and Biden brought down the cost of some drugs).

Lynze's avatar

He actually had said he would like to be a dictator also smh. He actually said he would do all of this!

Being from WV that used to be a blue state and has turned bleeding red. I blame them all.

S H's avatar

I think Terry is correct. A slice of the Democratic Party did leave the door cracked for this by not fighting for policies that benefits the average person in a full throated way

ElainePeake247@gmail.com's avatar

It is another very dark day for our republic.

debra nocera's avatar

I’m so glad you are on here some sanity in this reality show country we live in

Dale Petrishe's avatar

It’s way more than taking benefits- it's a deliberate “culling of the species”

Katheryn Millwee's avatar

Dale, I think you’re absolutely right; and it’s sad. So many people fought for decades to make this country “all inclusive,” and the closer we got to this vision of equality the more threatened a certain demographic became. That is the demographic that heard Trump’s dog whistle and voted him into power…twice!
