I follow many writers, journalists, and historians on the “Stack” these days, but I always turn to your postings 1st, to set the tone for the day/week. You manage to balance seriousness with some levity, and graciously share yourself, and life, and wisdom. I’m grateful for you and the others that guide, and hold my hand in these days of uncertainty. "One forgets about parenthood. The on-and-on-ness of it." How shrewd for you to recognize the wisdom of that line and kudos to the one who wrote it. My nest is empty these days and I am gratefully watching a brood of grandchildren also moving on in the world. It is both joyful and bittersweet. Thank you. I love our country. I liked it a lot better when we didn’t have to worry that our country would make good on the promises it made to a democracy up against Russia. And I also seem to rember arms President Biden promised to Ukraine that this administration halted.
It is clear to me that Felon47’s 28 Point Plan was directly copied from Putin’s playbook. I have heard that the awkward Russian translation through Google provides evidence for this assumption.
I believe Putin has enough blackmail material to control the actions of our nation’s leader. When will Felon47 finally be charged with TREASON?
Expressing gratitude is a win-win for the giver and the receiver. It deflects from negativity and focuses on things that are most important. It’s therapeutic. Years ago, when I had DBT at a difficult time in my life, I learned to think daily of three things I was grateful for.
Thank goodness for Thanksgiving, Terry Moran, and this community.

You have been a blessing to me since you appeared on Substack. Your decency, humanity, clarity and balance have helped me through some bouts of despair as Trump seemed to have the upper hand. Thankfully, more and more people are realizing he has empty hands and a twisted heart. I love James Wright. "Blessings" is transcendent. "Hook" is stark and austere but shows kindness of a stranger. Hopkins and his delight in language is skin-tingling. I enjoy you and Joanna and am waiting for more. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
