It was like someone threw a switch. Monday (when I got gas!), regular was something like $2.65 a gallon and diesel was in the vicinity of $3.49. Tuesday, it was $3.49 and $4.99, respectively! That jump in regular gas was bad enough, but diesel gaining $1.50?!? Madness.
And that can all be laid at the feet of the man-child in the White House.
As a public relations expert, I'd call this a well-executed distribution of messaging. It's hilarious clipped together. But here's the serious part: It's not short-term for the farmers who now have to include higher costs in planting with unstable markets in the fall for harvest. It's not short-term for families who must pay even more for fuel on top of high grocery costs and items affected by tariffs. Americans will do less, drive less and eat out less. Good for the economy? In a few months, I hope a reporter asks the White House to list the long-term gains for the American family. Nothing they do makes sense. We have an administration out of touch with humanity.
