Are the shredders at work in the halls of the Department of Justice? Are the reductions of Trump’s name in the Epstein files going to succeed in shielding the president from the consequences of his long friendship with the sexual predator?
And how will Zohran Mamdani deal with Trump, who has already referred to him as a “commie,“ when they meet in the Oval Office on Friday?
Those are just a couple of the subjects that my friend and former colleague Tara Palmeri and I dealt with in this Substack live conversation this morning. Tara is a dogged reporter with a streetwise insight into how politicians operate, and how Trump in particular manages to get away with just about everything. She also, of course, is one of the top reporters on the Epstein scandal.
Tara also covered City Hall in New York City, and so she knows the ins and outs of the Big Apple’s politics. She was at Mamdani’s headquarters on election night. Her insights into the challenges that Mamdani faces as New York’s first socialist mayor are really interesting.
