You don’t have to agree with Senator Kelly to respect his real patriotism, and his fortitude.
One of the major problems in our country right now is that the normal processes of our democracy are going dormant. The Congress has essentially ceased to function. The Cabinet is a bunch of groveling toadies. Corporate chieftains are abasing themselves before Trump like vassals before a petty despot on his throne. Everyone in public life, corporate life, civic life—is afraid of Donald Trump. Or nearly everyone.
A healthy democracy cannot live in fear. Senator Kelly, and a few others, are showing the way.
