In his long career at CNN, Jim earned a reputation as a fearless reporter who would stand up to Donald Trump or anyone else in power to get an answer. His passionate, confrontational style at the White House and in covering other high-profile stories stood out; he broke through the low-key approach of other Washington journalists—and he made news.
Either he got an answer, or he got kicked out. Either way, Jim was showing us something about the nature of power in the Age of Trump.
