If he is in contempt of the judges orders then jail him! ASAP!

Terry Moran's avatar

I think the judge is trying to use other tools at her disposal to get the result she wants: lawful enforcement of the laws. Federal judges generally are reluctant to find US government officials in contempt—even when they are. Thanks, DMA! T

Understood, however I doubt this guy will follow the laws…At some point he needs to be held accountable. Hopefully before innocent lives are affected.

They’re afraid.

Shelley Jeffries's avatar

Sadly the only people in that bunch who would arrest are kids in Halloween costumes.

Pgh Indie's avatar

He's a coward (surrounding himself with protection) and a bully (tear-gassing innocents) who is in direct defiance of the law. A judge's words will mean nothing to him-- so THROW HIS CONTEMPTIBLE, CONTEMPTUOUS ARSE IN JAIL!

Lisa's avatar

He's a very little man, in physical stature, as well as being highly insecure. He's definitely got Napoleon Syndrome.

Thank you for focusing on this story Terry. It’s important for us to stay on this and apply civic pressure, moral clarity and peaceful resistance to Bovino and his accomplices.

Karen4Humanity's avatar

Totally agree

Kathy Koblik's avatar

Me too -thanks Terry - appreciate your work. It's a strange combo of feeling relieved this ugliness is getting (so beautifully) recorded and horror that it is happening.

And knowing that there are SOME moral adults in the room - that are using their power.

What a gift Judge Ellis is to this District. She is doing more than most to try to protect our democracy!

What Have You Done?'s avatar

Terry, exceptional writing. Thank goodness for people like you and Judge Ellis; and the brave people protesting and recording these sadistic people.

June Kahn's avatar

Kudos to those who recorded this travesty!

Judy Nelson's avatar

There were children in that group in Halloween costumes, trying to enjoy their childhood and got pepper sprayed.

Deborah Petrina's avatar

If I was a parent of one of those kids, I would have called all my news stations about it.

uRNangel423's avatar

Unfortunately Judy, the main stream media would not have reported this occurrence or downplayed according this regime’s policies!

Deborah Petrina's avatar

National mainstream media would probably shun it, but local news would pick it up. (I know our Phoenix news would.)

uRNangel423's avatar

I too would hope that the local channels would pick it up.

Mary's avatar

There’s other ways to get it seen

uRNangel423's avatar

Local channels and hopefully it would be posted in the Substack community

Gassing and/or pepper-spraying people in such circumstances is an absolutely clear violation of the law AND in this instance of a specific court order. Gassing and/or pepper-spraying CHILDREN compounds the violation. There are plenty of witnesses; there is plenty of documentation. ALL the adults who were there could and should file suit against the arrogant bully who was immediately (and quite obviously) responsible for this atrocity. The harm is to the entire community, not only to the children, though that is the harm most egregious in this case. If people who have a clear path to remedy don't take that path, what possible meaning could such expressions as "we must stand up for ourselves [our neighborhood; our city; our country]" have?

Deborah Petrina's avatar

Well said. Action is essential. Hopefully, someone that was there will take the initiative to do so.

YOU CALL THE COPS! If you have reason not to trust the cops, call the Mayor.

Omg. I hate these f-ing cowards

Thank you for this report and I am eternally grateful for this judge. Bovino is a sadistic man-child who should be in prison, not wielding weapons against American people exercising their freedom of speech. Since Trump was elected, it is painful for me to watch PBS NewsHour. I had switched to PBS a couple years back. But I can’t stand hearing or seeing Trump and his administration’s faces and voices. So I read instead. It must be very difficult for you

and other journalist to watch and write about what these evil people are doing. Your work is very important and I thank you for doing it. Signed a retired, naval officer. Female, but not DEI.

Thank you, Mary!

So glad you're on Substack, Terry. To whom at ABC should I address my thank you note? 👍

Terry Moran's avatar

Hahaha! Nice one. But I don’t look back. Too much good work ahead!

Now let’s get Jonathan Carl.

And John Dickerson!

Bovino, in any other organization, would have been fired. Security walk his box to the front door. Security walk him to the front door. His credentials and door passcards openly surrendered. All in all, made sure he'd be humiliated. The Trump admin is doing that to many loyal and trusted federal employees. Bovino gets a pass because he's more than willing to do the things asked of him. He's probably like Tom Homan, someone who has a personnel record littered with excessive force complaints.

Will he comply? Remains to be seen, but Judge Ellis said more than once on Tuesday said his non-compliance will not be tolerated. Today, Wednesday, we'll find how good he listens and whether he understands the orders against him.

Terry Moran's avatar

Exactly, David. Judge Ellis proceeded with restraint, but forcefulness. I’ll keep watching what happens.

This little midget wouldn’t last 60 seconds with me. And I’m 63.

Marybtom's avatar

His behavior, particularly in context of the entire film clip, clearly shows his contempt for the Court’s order. You nailed it, saying a parent would feel they had failed 😞 if their son acted this way. Verbal protests do NOT justify these thugs’ actions. Looks like he’s having fun pitching tear gas at civilians in a neighborhood near a kids parade 🎃, particularly when he is safely out of the fray. What an arrogant small man cosplaying a storm trooper for social media. Ugh. 😣

Terry Moran's avatar

Yep. He enjoyed tossing that canister and violating the judge’s order.

ElizabethRTX's avatar

Whatever happened to Contempt of Court charges? And how do we rein in a lawless President, whi us now openly telling our Military in Japan that "We don't really need Congress, anymore", ignoring the Constitufion as passe', saying thd quiet part out loud?

June Kahn's avatar

Contempt of Court vanished when trump hand-selected the various judges, literally hundreds of them, and significantly, packed the "supreme court" with his enablers.

Terry Moran's avatar

I think the judge is trying to use other tools at her disposal to get the result she wants: lawful enforcement of the laws. Federal judges generally are reluctant to find US government officials in contempt—even when they are. But she said she would not tolerate further disobedience.

ElizabethRTX's avatar

Some Judges still have integrity, even those who were appointed by Trump.

Rick Massimo's avatar

Someone’s going to have to go to jail to get it through their heads.

ElizabethRTX's avatar

Itceill likely not be Trump. He us essential for pardoning those who do floor to jail.

ElizabethRTX's avatar

It will not be Trump who goes to jail. He always likes to snooker someone else into takingbthecrapnfor hom. Where is Rudy Giuliani today? Lost his law license, and in debt for millions to the two voting officials he slandered. Trump demands loyalty from everyone, but is loyal to no one. And those who are loyal to him he will call “losers” when he is done using them.

Joan Donaldson's avatar

I cheered when the judge is putting him into Time Out every evening. He should be in jail for a few weeks or more. My nephew lives in a middleclass section of Chicago and told us that his kids' school cancels recess when their playground is filled with tear gas. The Guard tosses it around recklessly and it floats through the neighborhoods.

Terry Moran's avatar

That is truly a sad image of our time.

June Kahn's avatar

How said that the children are seeing such horrors and in their own neighborhoods. Maybe it was a Halloween prank that went wrong. Oh, wait! This was deliberately done by a trump appointee - bovino!

Joan Donaldson's avatar

Actually, my nephew reported this condition a few weeks ago.

Lisa Paulson's avatar

Yeah, exactly which border are they patrolling?? Indiana? Michigan?

Assholes.

Thank you Mr. Moran for your clarity, words and reporting of these crimes..

There’s a level of depravity and atrocities that this world has experienced and seen before. So many recorded their lives history that lived through it for future generations to always remember to “Never Forget” what men and women who follow a regime that intends to destroy a culture, people who they point blame to for their own inadequacies. This regime moved people out of their homes, placed them in box cars and sent them to death camps. Some were paired off to walk the way to gas chambers after the removal of all their clothing being told they were showers. Others were placed in over crowded wooden sheds that had bunk beds built out of wood that were shared with thousands of others to work “for” the regime, given striped clothing that beared an insignia as to whether they were Jewish, Polish, LGBTQ or even others. These creatures filmed and watched as people were gassed afterwards removed gold teeth, hair, took all their processions as if that property was their own. Starved the ones kept alive and had them place those dead bodies from gas chambers into ovens to burn their family members bodies, or dig mass graves to throw the bodies into.. We’ve seen it before and yet when told to “Never Forget” we believe to Not Remember thinking at this time is different..

Truly believe Mark Twain and Benjamin Franklin were well aware and way ahead in their thinking of human behaviors.

“History may not repeat the exact same events, but the same patterns tend to emerge over time, if you don’t learn from it.” ~ Mark Twain

“We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid" ~ Benjamin Franklin
